My Cell
Page content
If you made it this far, you’re not rubber-fucking-necking. You’ve walked through enough of my wreckage that you get the real version. No résumé. No TED talk voice. No soft-code.
I am not a fucking thought leader. I’m a state-issued bastard out of a Catholic Services office in a dying steel town, paperwork-kidnapped and dropped into a house built on a fucking lie. I grew up under mill smoke and porch-surveillance, where a dented metal lunchbox bought a man the right to drink and rage and a woman got a goddamn glass house for a prison. I learned to read the fucking air before I could form a word.
The State bounced me like defective inventory. Foster homes. Courtrooms. A Christian boys’ ranch where the brochure said Live, Love, Learn and the reality was frozen irrigation pipe, hay bales chewing your hands bloody, and Bible verses screamed at you while you broke your back. They called it treatment. It was a labor camp with hymns.
At seventeen I finally came off safety; Grand Junction, Colorado. I turned one dude who thought I was soft into a fucking physics lesson. The paperwork didn’t say anything about Alaska, Triple L, or a nervous system running redline since birth. It said risk to community. Eight years. Old Max.
I know the sound a sally port makes when it locks your whole fucking future on the wrong side of concrete. I know what a broomstick murder sounds like, when a tier decides a child rapist isn’t a human being but a message. I know what it feels like when your name gets ripped off and replaced with a number and everyone involved calls it justice so they can sleep.
In that cage I met two priests of opposite bullshit. One walked in smelling like Tide and church carpet, put his name and his credit on the line, and offered me a straight-world redemption arc. The other shared my cell, my smokes, and my contempt, and made it painfully clear that the law and morality are not the same file and the Machine knows exactly what the fuck it is doing. Between them I learned this: grace is real, and so is the urge to light the paperwork on fire.
When the gate finally spit me out, I used the grace like a stolen car and drove it straight into the puddle. Raves. Dope. Security gigs where hyper-vigilance reads as “professional presence” to people who’ve never heard a real scream. I quit the drugs alone on some random New Year’s Eve, no program, no chips and coffee, no applause, just one fried nervous system finally deciding it was either stop or die ugly.
Some-fucking-how a woman looked at all that and still said yes. She dragged herself from GED to doctorate while I built a fucking perimeter around our kid. We stress-tested this wiring against cotton gins in Texas, resort gates in Hawaiʻi, local boys who wanted to write “haole” across my son’s back with their slippers, school offices, airport gates, and suburban cul-de-sacs. I’ve been the DOC number, the day-labor ghost, the “sir we need to see your key card” anomaly, and the dad who will happily set himself on fire before he lets the blast touch his family.
That’s the skeleton.
Now let’s talk about the part that really has people tightening up under their cardigans: Who the fuck is this guy to talk like this? Here’s who.. mother fucker.
Don’t crack your mouth about word count or legitimacy, do the fucking math.
I know what it sounds like when someone says they wrote over a million words. It sounds like hyperbole. It sounds like internet bullshit. It sounds like some guy with a bong running his mouth.
So here’s the proof: Now I sit at over 1.1 million, fuck 1,000,000, Right here. Published. Live. Verifiable.

There is no fucking hedging here. No goddamn apologies. Just a meticulous, analytical fucking mind breaking down the world as I see it, rebuilding it through pure, un-fucking-filtered expression. Audit my stack.
The academic world takes four fucking years and three committees to cough up eighty thousand words that have been sanded so smooth they barely have a pulse. That’s how you write when you are constantly checking the ceiling for permission and watching tenure in your peripheral vision. That’s what turning away looks like in 12-point font.
Over a million words is what happens when a nervous system that has been eating shit since Johnson was president finally says fuck it and rips the mute button out of the wall. There is no time for spin at that speed. You don’t compose. You don’t brand. You don’t perform. You open the cockpit voice recorder and let it scream until the tape runs hot.
It’s legitimate because it’s ugly. It’s cohesive because it never changes the goddamn frequency. Pick any page in that pile. You will find the same mechanic doing the same dirty little dance: something foul hits the air, the neck twitches, the body pivots, and then the story shows up late, dressed like ethics. Kitchen dog fart. Family bruise. Prison broomstick. Boardroom budget cut. Island racism. Clinic lobby. Marriage bed. Same script, different costumes. This is not a clever metaphor. It’s one reflex pinned to every wall I’ve ever stood against until you finally stop pretending it’s just “a nice image.”
So when some smooth motherfucker strolls up and, in a very reasonable indoor voice, says, “Now hold on, there’s no way you have that kind of output that makes comprehensive sense,” I know they didn’t bother to click the link. Didn’t count the posts. Didn’t add up the read times. Didn’t do the basic fucking multiplication I just did for them above. They just let their mouth fly. That’s not rigor. That’s lazy arrogance with a vocabulary.
You stepped through thousands of words of me ripping my own wiring open on the page, and now you want to check my paperwork? Who the fuck do you think you are?
My Cell Mother Fucker. you sit to piss here.
I am The Man in the Hat you’ve been reading this whole time. I am not above the 250-millisecond hijack. I get nailed by that same quarter-second every day of my life. The difference is I finally got tired enough to fucking watch it, name it, and write down every coward move in plain English instead of hiding behind another “we must” paragraph.
You don’t have to like my language. You don’t have to like me. You can clutch your pearls at every fuck in this Author’s Note and go back to whatever thinkpiece makes you feel like a good person. But if you are going to question my output, my structure, or my right to talk this hard about this much rot, at least have the balls to do the math before you speak.
The numbers are public. The posts are live. The receipts are sitting right there waiting for anyone who bothers to look. I did the fucking multiplication for you. Line by line. Post by post. 1,124,448 words.
You are not addressing a vibe. You’re speaking into nearly six decades of cages, boys’ ranches, courtrooms, piss-reeking hallways, hospital lobbies, school offices, parking lots at 3 a.m. The kid who got drafted as a goddamn penance before he had teeth.
I didn’t ask fucking permission to write this. The Machine had fifty-plus years to tell the truth and chose brochures, soft-code, and grant reports instead. It had its turn. This is the black-box recording it never wanted pulled from the wreckage.
Now it’s my turn.
